Position Overview: 

As a postdoctoral fellow in Analytical Sciences you will work with a highly collaborative and cross-functional team of scientist within the MRL Pharmaceutical Sciences organization based in Rahway, New Jersey. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with talented and dedicated scientist while developing and expanding your career in an environment which fosters critical thinking and innovation.  Research will be conducted in order to probe the interplay between drug particle-stabilizer interactions and to better understand how these interactions dictate a parenteral suspension’s quality and resulting performance (both in vitro and in vivo).
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Design and execute experiments to drive the selection of composition and processing parameters for parenteral suspension formulations using traditional and innovative analytical approaches
  • Develop and implement novel analytical methods for both formulation development as well as the prediction of bio-performance 
  • Document the execution, procedure, results, and conclusions of research experiments in a detailed manner 
  • Author research updates and articles
  • Present results of experiments and innovation efforts
  • Drive solutions to research challenges through active collaboration with key research partners throughout MRL

Education Minimum Requirement:  
  • PhD with less than 3 years of Postdoctoral Experience or achieved a  Ph.D. by Spring/Summer of  2018 
Required Experience and Skills:
  • Ability to conceive, design and execute experiments, interpret and track results, and utilize this information to enable further research activities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, self-motivated and highly collaborative
  • Understanding and background in spectroscopic analysis of small molecules and polymers
  • Experience with materials and surface characterization techniques 
Preferred Experience and Skills: 
  • Proven track record of publication in peer-reviewed journals (at least 2 as lead) 
  • Experience with continuous flow-through cell in vitro dissolution
  • Experience with flow chemistry and/or flow-NMR spectroscopy
