Job Purpose

Postdoctoral research fellows are trainees working in an apprenticeship mode in preparation for a career as a scientific professional. A Postdoctoral fellowship is available to study colorectal cancer as part of the Shroyer laboratory at Baylor College of Medicine.  The project will involve use of genetically engineered mouse models, 3-dimensional human organoids, cell culture, molecular biology, and some biochemistry.  The goal of the project is to understand that molecular basis of the different histologic types of colorectal cancer in order to develop and improve subtype-specific cancer therapy.

Job Responsibilities
  • Plans, directs and conducts specialized and advanced research experiments.
  • Evaluates and analyzes data.
  • May establish new research protocols and procedures.
  • Summarizes research findings and publish results in research journals.
  • May be responsible for laboratory operations.
  • May supervise research staff.
Minimum Qualifications

Education: Ph.D in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.

Experience: None required.
