Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Scope of Position:

  • Lead a project related to product strategy development, product lifecycle management, or business process for the Product Management function of Corning Optical Communications
  • Examine a key strategic issue confronting the Product Management team Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a project plan with interim milestones and final report-out.
  • Lead a cross-functional team to develop a recommended course of action or execute on project deliverables.
  • Conduct research, analysis, and develop financial justification to support recommendations as appropriate.
  • Document results and make recommendations to key internal stakeholders.



  • Enrolled in college or university pursuing a business, marketing or technical degree
  • Proficiency in collecting and analyzing data
  • Intermediate Excel & PowerPoint skills



  • Understanding of finalncial analysis, profit & lost statements and or pricing analysis
  • Understanding or previous experience in Product Line Management (PLM)
  • Interest in technology (i.e. fiber optic solutions)
  • Work independently, detailed and focused
  • Ability to creatively track down information that may not be readily available. 
  • Must be able to work effectively, have initiative, work as a team and in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills/experience
