Position Description Scope of Position (i.e. projects involved with and role within group):

• Supervise team responsible for assured supply of materials, (on time, best price, high quality) in addition to competitive costs, minimizing inventories while ensuring optimum materials utilization and supplier performance

• Plan and revise manufacturing schedules and supporting raw material requirements in order to meet customer requirements while efficiently utilizing OCS resources

• Works in conjunction with divisional supply chain, product line management (PLM), production, quality and technology

• Leverage and understand the demand plan from PLM

• Leverage and understand the capacity model for labor and equipment from the engineering and production.

• Using the demand plan, the capacity model and the inventory strategy, develop a supply plan and facilitate consensus between the plant and PLM.


Day to Day Responsibilities:

Supervise Planning team to:

• Develop and/or revise production schedules in accordance with customer requirements and manufacturing capacity.

• Coordinate schedules with customer service, suppliers, receiving, manufacturing and shipping to ensure customers’ requirements are met

• Utilizes knowledge of Supply Chain concepts and principles in decision processes

• Participates in negotiations with Suppliers, including Contract Administration

• Creates and maintains contractual documents (Supply Agreements, Pricing Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Certificates of Insurance, etc.). Assists with Commodity Reviews and Supply Intelligence

• Inventory Management (where applicable): Organizes, controls, and minimizes materials on hand, slow moving and obsolete materials

• Acts as GSM liaison between plants, including materials and quality areas

• Collaborates with GSM and Shared Services to resolve invoicing issues

• Participates in cross-functional teams focused on process improvements, cost reduction and supply chain issue resolution

• Protects Intellectual Property (IP)

• Makes sure that the suppliers are environmentally compliant and that the scrap is correctly disposed


Travel Requirements (please note if international): 10 % May be some limited international


Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: 40 plus hours to support 24 by 7 operation


Education and Experience (minimum required for consideration)

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Manufacturing Operations or equivalent 7 to 10 years’ experience in Supply Chain planning, Operations Management, Engineering, and Manufacturing preferred.
