Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.


Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates execution of and compliance to corporate Global Supply Management (GSM) policies and procedures in the plant
  • Facilitates requisition-to-pay activities in support of plant operations requirements
  • Supports RFQ’s/RFP’s for plant personnel
  • Supports negotiations of pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers
  • Manages supplier adds, changes, non-disclosure agreements, certificates of insurance, etc.
  • Supports management of supplier corrective actions to resolve quality or delivery concerns with locally managed suppliers
  • Supports new supplier qualifications
  • Manages lease/buy arrangements for the plant’s powered industrial vehicle fleet and other misc. equipment.  Manages related maintenance contracts. 
  • Participates in selected corporate GSM-specific objectives
  • Participates in and identifies/drives key cost reduction opportunities
  • Manages supplier purchase order confirmations, tracks/manages/expedites past-dues, resolves invoice/billing issues


Travel Requirements:  < 5%


Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:  8am-5pm, Monday-Friday.  Evening conference calls as required (infrequent).  Possible plant weekend team coverage (6-7 weekends per year).


Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Business concentration (Supply Chain Management, Business Admin./Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics)
  • 3-5 years of experience in supply chain management. Experience in procurement preferred
  • Experience with supply chain systems such as PeopleSoft/PRISM, SAP, Ariba, or similar
