Corning Incorporated Aviation Department is currently hiring a first officer. Corning is one of the world’s leading innovators in materials science. For more than 160 years, Corning has applied its unparalleled expertise in specialty glass, ceramics, and optical physics to develop products that have created new industries and transformed people’s lives. We operate a fleet of Falcon 900EX/EASY and Challenger 850 aircraft.

Required Skills:

  • A minimum of 1500 hours with commercial, instrument, and multi-engine ratings.
  • Current FAA first class medical.
  • Valid U.S. Passport.  
  • Clean FAA/DOT/DOJ records.
  • Experience in multi-pilot crew operations utilizing the concepts of CRM.
  • Minimum two year college degree.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in multi-pilot crew aircraft utilizing CRM
  • 500 hrs turbojet
  • CL-65 type rating, or DA-50 type rating, or DA-EASY type rating
  • Familiarity with Advanced Avionics Platforms

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working with other flight crew members to ensure the safe operation of Corning aircraft during day to day operations.
  • Maintaining a high degree of proficiency and thorough knowledge of the procedures and systems in the aircraft.
  • Determine that the aircraft is airworthy in accordance with FAR's and Corning policies and procedures by completing the appropriate preflight inspections.
  • Become familiar with existing and forecast weather prior to each flight.
  • Assist with handling of aircraft, passengers, and baggage at terminal points. Requires lifting.
  • Interface with passengers and other company personnel in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Additional duties assigned by the director of aircraft operations.

Travel and Work Requirements:

  • Extensive domestic and some international travel.
  • Work schedule varied dependent on flight schedule.
  • Work some weekends and company holidays.
  • Must be willing to relocate to within one hour of the Elmira Corning Regional Airport.
