Position Summary

Responsible for physician and advanced practice provider recruitment consistent with Centura Health's strategic plan and service line business plans, achieving annual goals and objectives. Responsible for recruitment of physicians and advanced practice providers who will meet and fulfill the needs of the organization. Activities of this role include sourcing, developing relationships with physicians and advanced practice providers, screening and interviewing, planning and scheduling site visits, shepherding the interview process, assisting with the development of compensation, and closing the engagement for a successful hire. Responsible for working with the finance department and physician contracting to ensure contract and offer are consistent with the organization's objectives for compliance and productivity measures, compensation, and incentives, as well as documentation of any other items negotiated in connection with hire or on-boarding.

Minimum Education Requirements

Bachelor Degree required. Prefer degree in Business, Human Resource or Healthcare Administration

Minimum Experience Requirements

Must have a minimum of 2 years' experience in physician recruitment or a minimum of 3 years' experience in one or more of the following: (a) healthcare recruiting, (b) executive recruiting and/or (c) physician contracting.



Must have experience in or substantial knowledge of ambulatory, acute and other medical facility operations



Must have excellent communication skills, and strong aptitude and proven experience in working with all levels of management.



Knowledge of physician contract management, terminology related to compensation, productivity models, and incentives.



Demonstrates professionalism and sound critical thinking.



Ability to manage multiple searches in short periods of time while ensuring professional customer service.



Demonstrates sound judgment, appropriate discretion and decision making authority within the scope of this role.

Position Duties (essential functions denoted with an * )

■Responsible for candidate lead generation, sourcing, pre-screening and appropriate follow-up for physician and advanced practice provider candidates in designated specialties.* Identifies and sources targeted candidates using a variety of creative and effective recruitment methods.* Reviews CVs/applications and screens all candidates to determine quality and fit for the organization.*

■Creates a comprehensive practice description for each opportunities, job posting and works to present physician and provider opportunities with detail and clarity, providing specific information about the position. Works collaboratively with the Central Verification Office, Compliance Officers, Medical Staff Offices, Human Resource, and Contract Coordinators at each facility.*

■Develops effective recruitment strategies/campaigns for recruitment of physicians and advanced practice providers, in training and in practice, in designated specialties including Internet, own research, conferences, advertising, residency programs, and state/national medical organization and specialty meetings.*

■Maintains database of all candidate information to include curriculum vitae, contact information, internal referrals and follow-up information.* Remains current on regional and national physician and provider trends and practices, researches competitor activities, and develops, maintains and communicates market intelligence to the be integrated into the strategic plan for growth and development of needed practices by the organization.*

■Coordinates facility/community site visits to include tours of the community(s) and housing options, meetings with facility administration, key medical staff members and tours of the facility(s).*

■Follows HIPAA, Stark, Anti-t rust and all other legal requirements.*

■Provides an environment that fosters business partnership, teamwork, mentoring, coaching, and learning as measured by associate and physician engagement.*



Works collaboratively with partners from multiple levels of authority to assure success of the recruitment and on boarding of physicians and advanced practice providers and provides continued assistance to new hire physicians and providers in becoming acclimated to the community and organization during their transition/relocation; follows up with new hires at 30 and 60 days to determine satisfaction with the process and assess opportunities for development.*

■Works collaboratively with internal and external partners (such as finance, legal counsel, external practices and physicians) to establish effective and efficient communication for the strategic recruitment and to assure adherence to guidelines, rules and regulations.*

■Prepares and presents monthly assessment reports with regards to recruitment needs and placements.* Serves as communication liaison with candidate, practice, and management regarding the recruiting and on-boarding process.*

■Ability to respond quickly and effectively to changing and immediate needs with relations to the employment.*

■Developing and reviewing recruiting contracts with employment agencies, placement offices under the direction and oversight of the manager of physician recruitment.*
