Scope of Position (i.e. projects involved with and role within group):

  • Process engineering support in a high volume manufacturing facility focusing on semiconductor-MEM’s photolithography processes in support for the 6” glass wafer product line.
  • Supports and Maintains established production photolithography processes; Automated/SemiAutomated Equipment; Photoresist Coat, Bake, Expose, Develop, Plasma Ash, Photomask Clean and Strip, Solvent Cleaning, Automation, High/Low Power Microscopy, Inspection, CD-Measurements,
  • Executes and supports continuous process improvement activities for quality, cost and capacity using proven lean-six sigma methods. • Process Data Monitoring using statistical process control
  • Experience with writing SOPs, control plans, overseeing daily/weekly process standard data for SPC control charts


Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Owns the Photolithography Process and for liquid lens for High Volume Manufacturing Line
  • Responsible for process and equipment up-time
  • Requires Effective Communication with all Engineering disciplines; Processing, Equipment, Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety, ensuring production readiness in meeting schedules/deadlines.
  • Monitor critical process data obtaining information both electronically and manually using process control plans, spc -parato charts, etc,
  • Ensure processing issues are prioritized and resolved in a timely manner
  • Responds to production issues, flags documentation in a timely manner
  • Analyzes daily SPC reports and oversees continuous improvement programs to improve process capability, capacity and process optimization
  • Responsible for attending shift pass down information meetings


Travel Requirements (please note if international):

  • 10 -15% Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: 40 plus hours to support 24 by 7 operation


Education and Experience:

BS/MS degree in engineering (or closely related discipline) and 10 years minimum experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience to meet the following:

  • Coursework in semiconductor manufacturing, and/or clean room/ fab work experience is required.
  • Prior experience in a semiconductor or MEMs fabrication facility with process ownership of Photolithography in a HVM industry or pilot line process
  • Experience as a leader-contributor in meeting continuous improvement goals, process improvements, managing innovation, and expanding technical capability.
  • Experience coordinating with functional teams to achieve daily metric goals


Required Skills:


  • Considered an expert in Semiconductor/MEM’s Photolithography Processing
  • Previous Hazardous communications/materials coursework and on the job precautionary safety ppe-personal protective equipment necessary for handling hazardous materials; Photoresist, EBR, HMDS, Developers,
  • Ability to work in the class 100 cleanroom 50 – 70% of workday
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills at operator, engineering and management levels
  • High degree of discipline with the ability to multi-task multiple process operations simultaneously.
  • Ability to analyze problems and develop effective solutions

  • Batch Level Automated Cassette Processing at a mid to high manufacturing capacity
  • Efficient at Multitasking
  • Good interaction with processing technicians/operators addressing and resolving process issues, flags or other concerns in a timely manner
  • Experience working with all facets of Manufacturing Operations; Environmental, Health and Safety, Quality Assurance, Production and Engineering Management, Integration Engineering, etc.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, SPC, DOE, greenbelt certification
