The Medical Oncology department is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Specialist to join their team part time (20 hours) located in Everett, WA.

Monday - Friday 10:00am - 2

Under general supervision, the oncology pharmacy technician is responsible for providing technical support under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, which includes but not limited to: medication order triaging, intravenous (IV) medication preparation (chemo and non-chemo), and inventory management of pharmaceutical products and supplies. The scope of programs covers all medications managed and administered in the physician office. The technician will handle the technical duties in the pharmacy to allow the pharmacist to pursue the clinical areas of pharmacy practice and ensure optimal safety and pharmaceutical care is being provided. The technician's duties are provided as part of the pharmacy team and involves interaction with physicians, nurses, and other health care providers.

The ASC Surgical Technologist is responsible for and not limited to:

* Retrieves orders from Impac system to prepare medications

* Triages orders in an appropriate manner

* Pulls correct medication and dose

* Requests pharmacist intervention when needed

* Ensures labels are correct before product preparation

* Prepares chemo and non-chemo medications in a safe and manner using proper IV technique

* Assists with inventory control by ordering, receiving and restocking medications and supplies

* Assures pre-meds and bags are prepared in adequate numbers for the planned schedule of patients

* Performs weekly physical inventory

* Check for outdated medications and supplies and removes them from inventory

Required Experience and Credentials:

* Completion of a pharmacy technician certification program approved by the Washington State Board of Pharmacy

* 1 year experience as a pharmacy technician trained in IV technique

* Active pharmacy technician license in the state of Washington
