Description
Assists department leadership and acts as a liaison between the ambulatory care areas, the department of pharmaceutical services and applicable State and Federal regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities:

* Ensures legislative, regulatory, rule, accreditation and CC policy and procedural consistency with respect to medication use in the ambulatory patient care setting.
* Monitors and evaluates the completion of monthly inspections conducted by the site manager.
* Interacts with State, Federal and non-governmental regulatory agencies on various medication use issues.
* Develops and modifies policies and procedures for approval by department leadership.
* Other duties as assigned.

Education:

* High School Diploma or GED.
* Completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program preferred.

Certifications:

* Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) verified through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
* Upon hire, registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy. Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy is required within 6 months.

Complexity of Work:

* Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
* Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Work Experience:

* Three years of pharmacy technician experience in an inpatient hospital environment or equivalent environment.

Physical Requirements:

* Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing, reaching, stretching, and sitting for prolonged periods; manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer, dispensing functions of the job; ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
* While walking, stooping, bending and reaching; ability to transport 240 lb. cart.

Personal Protective Equipment:

* Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
