PharMerica Indianapolis is hiring for the Pharmacy Technician (Order Entry) to join our team.

Pharmacy Technician (Order Entry) provides a variety of data entry functions to support multiple LTC pharmacy operations sites. This position will provide high volume data entry support to pharmacies that need assistance remotely and requires multiple state certifications.

Essential Functions:

  • Enter data into computer system to fill prescriptions and to obtain reimbursement/payment.
  • Knowledge of drugs, medical nomenclature, and metric system.
  • Read and input written prescriptions and medical data.
  • Ability to interpret physicians’ orders into the computerized med. Order system.
  • Ability to perform drug calculations and interpret prescriptions.
  • Input daily orders (new and refills).
  • Maintains Point of Service (POS) billing, as needed.
  • Audits the input versus documentation and makes corrections as required.
  • Generates reports as needed.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One year experience in data entry.Ability to communicate effectively.  Skilled in operating a computer.  Skilled in performing detailed work.
  • Licenses/Certifications: IN Pharmacy Technician License, must have national PTCB certification or be able to obtain within six months; must be able to obtain multiple state technician certifications as required by state regulations.
  • Detail orientation; Organization and Planning.
  • Must be available to work overnights Monday through Friday between the hours of 12:00pm - 8:30pm and Saturday rotation.
