Education & Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of one (1) year of pharmacy technician experience.
- A high level of interpersonal skills to affect positive outcomes.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Detailed oriented and able to multitask.
- Ability to work independently, as well as, in an interdisciplinary team setting.
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Fills prescribed medication with the correct NDC number, and quantity by using a "Kirby", and placing prescription in an appropriate size bottle. Verifies that patient label, NDC number, and quantity are correct before sending to Pharmacist for review.
- Process medications for fulfillment.
- Assist with full inventory and cycle counts, removing any out-of-date products for proper recording and returning to the manufacturer.
- Cleans equipment, maintaining sterile working environments and tools.
- Scans the medications bar code to verify that the paperwork, medications, and the patient file provided in the pharmacy system is active and correct.
- Prepares and places pharmaceutical products in appropriate packaging to avoid any damages or the compromising of temperature sensitive medications.
- Place correct medications in appropriate shipping containers for delivery to patient via UPS, Fed-Ex, USPS, or courier.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions / Behavioral Expectations
- Ability to utilize equipment including but not limited to: Telephone, Computer, Designated software(s), Basic office Software (MS word, Excel), Printers, Calculators, Facsimile Machine, and other Pharmacy Equipment.
- Ability to walk, stand, sit, and reach on a frequent basis.
- Adequate range of motion and mobility required.
- May be required to handle a heavy work volume.

- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
