Description
Job Summary: Uses pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information to process prescriptions. Assists the pharmacists in performing technical duties related to the distribution of drugs to patients. Monitors medication inventory levels and places orders to restock. Develops strong relationships with colleagues and customers. Supports pharmacological services by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level, placing and expediting orders, reading medication orders and prescriptions, preparing labels, calculating quantities, compounding sterile and non-sterile products, and other pharmaceutical therapies. Education - Required: High School Diploma/GED Experience - Required: Experience - Preferred: 1 year pharmacy technician experience Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Required: Able to work in a fast-paced environment. Good math skills needed for counting, measuring, and weighing medications. Basic computer skills. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Preferred: Knowledge of inventory control. Knowledge of brand name/generic medications. Knowledge and ability to use pharmacy automation. Licensure - Preferred: CPhT - Certified Pharmacy Technician",
