Summary:
Under the supervision of a pharmacist, fills medication orders, pre-packages, compounds pharmaceuticals, refills stock supplies, delivers medication and performs various clerical duties as required

Qualifications

Other information:
High school diploma or GED plus specialized, short-term training in the areas of pharmacy law, practices standards, terminology, pharmacy math, drug preparation, dosage forms and trade/generic names.
Pharmacy Technician National Certification through exam or transfer required.
Active New Mexico Board of Pharmacy. pharmacy technician license required.
Successful completion of PHS Sterile Products Compounding Competency
At least one year experience in pharmacy or completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program
Active New Mexico Board of Pharmacy. pharmacy technician license required

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
*Meets and demonstrates competency in all Pharmacy Tech I and II criteria and:
*Successfully completes training, maintains competence and primary responsibility in:
*Preparation of:
*Sterile medication preparation, and/or
*Pediatric sterile and non-sterile medications
Or, Primary responsibility is controlled substance inventory, distribution and disposal
*Responsible for adherence to the Department Compliance Plan for Controlled substances.
*Performs other functions as required.
