JOB SUMMARY:

The primary responsibilities of this position are to assist the Pharmacist at all times to ensure that each customer receives the correct medicine orders correctly.

JOB DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Retrieve, count and measure drugs (except CIIS), cap and uncap vials and bottles.
* Retrieve and file pharmacy prescriptions in the appropriate files and assist Pharmacist with checking in and pricing drug orders (except CIIS).
* Maintain inventory levels, pull outdated/recalled merchandise.
* Refer all doctor's calls and customer's medical questions to Pharmacist.
* Assist the Pharmacist with all third party transactions including the completion of any paperwork.
* Package and maintain necessary records for controlled substances, including, but not limited to, transaction logs, invoices, and returned medications.
* Prepare controlled substances for intravenous administration using sterile preparation technique.
* Maintain inventory of controlled substances via ordering and reporting mechanisms.
* Maintain the Pharmacy Department: fill Pharmacy supplies, vacuum dust/face; wipe counter tops; clean sink and settee area; straighten administration area; clean baker units; empty trash.
* Complete Pharmacy paperwork, maintain daily/weekly reports.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education

* Certified pharmacy technician required.
* HS Diploma Required.

Experience

* Possesses a minimum three (3) years of experience in pharmacy business functions.

Specific Requirements

* Serve in the role of lead technician, displaying positive work ethic as an example to colleagues.
* Possesses strong knowledge of pharmacy third party billing.
* Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
* Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing and possess sufficient communication skills to perform the tasks required.

This opening is for a full-time pharmacy technician. Regular working hours are 8am - 5pm Monday through Friday. Overtime will be required based on need.
