Description
A Pharmacy Technician role is available now with a major pharmaceutical company in Lake Bluff, IL. In this role you will support the pharmacist(s) in completing the duties associated with entering, processing, and managing drug therapy orders, interpreting, and dispensing prescriptions. You MUST be Illinois State Certified Pharmacy Technician to be considered for this role.
Pay Rate: 21.00/Hour
Location: Lake Bluff, IL
Length: 6 Month-Possibility to extend based on business needs and performance.
Schedule: 8 Hour Shifts: Monday-Friday (Must be available to work shift between 9am-7 pm)
Certifications: IL State Pharmacy Technician

Pharmacy Technician Purpose:
  • Maintaining patient and pharmacy records and other professional activities.
  • Collaborating with and supporting the Lead(s) and Supervisor(s) in day-to-day activities, issue resolution, and completion of project tasks.
  • Be a subject matter expert in all pharmacy operations functional areas.

  • Responsibilities of Pharmacy Technician but not limited to:
  • Assist the pharmacist with the practice of pharmacy in accordance with federal, state, local regulations, HIPAA guidelines and company/departmental policies.
  • Accurately interpreting healthcare providers prescription orders, entering the core pharmacy system and notifying the physician of any incomplete or incorrect prescription information.
  • Assist the pharmacist in obtaining accurate verbal orders for product replacement and obtain accurate missing prescription information from the healthcare provider.
  • Manage the patient adherence process and schedule medication deliveries in accordance to Pharmacy Solutions guidelines.
  • Communicate with health insurance payors and providers to investigate benefits and transmit test claims (if applicable) to verify prescription coverage.
  • Interact professionally and efficiently with other internal and external teams to assure accurate provision of services to the patient.
  • Pharmacy Technician Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED. College or Associate Degree preferred.
  • Illinois State Pharmacy Technician License.
  • Minimum 3-5 years Retail or Specialty Pharmacy Experience.
  • Knowledge of on-line verification systems or similar experience.
  • Strong computer skills: data entry, Microsoft applications.
