Position Information:

The Pharmacy Technician III performs specialized functions necessary to assist pharmacists in providing safe, efficient, friendly and cost-effective pharmacotherapy services. Specialized functions/areas include, but are not limited to the following: sterile compounding, controlled substance oversight, pediatrics, medication history, patient assistance, inventory control, medstation maintenance, unit inspection, packaging, bedside discharge service. Utilizes requisite equipment, non-sterile and/or compounding supplies, and computer systems as appropriate for the procurement, preparation for verification, and/or delivery of medication. Performs quality control procedures and contributes to the maintenance of the pharmacy, equipment, and supplies. Assumes responsibility for at least one pharmacy related project outside of normal job duties determined by supervisor/manager including workflow redesign, performance improvement, safety, quality control, regulatory, administrative, staff development, and technology. Trains and mentors new employees and/or students in the theoretical and operational aspects of procedures and serves as a mentor for less experienced staff. Works with pharmacy leadership to develop & implement ? 1 staff competency for the technicians, pharmacists or other health care professionals. Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience Requirements:

7 Years Pharmacy Tech - Hospital (Inpatient/Acute) Required - Or 7 Years Pharmacy Tech - Hospital (Outpatient) Required - And Clinical - Pharmacy Technician In Pharmacy - Specialty Area Required

Education Required:

High School Diploma or Equivalent Required - And College Courses Pharmacy Preferred - And

Licensure/Certification Requirements:

Eligible for Registration with NC Board of Pharmacy Required - Within 30 Days of Hire And Certified Pharmacy Technician Required - Or Equivalent Education Requirement Required

Hours of Work:

7am-5:30pm 7on/7off
