Job Summary

Under the direct oversight of a licensed pharmacist, and supervision of a technician supervisor, the Pharmacy Technician II primarily work in work cells, IC team and/or PCC team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Order Management (Work Cells)

* As part of this small team, the incumbent will process new starts, new orders and refills requiring intervention to completion, meaning the order is clinically appropriate, reimbursable and patient's out‐of‐pocket expense is collected.
* Enter new orders into the pharmacy computer system
* Obtain all necessary billing and clinical documents.
* Adjudicate NCPDP online claims and collect past due balances and patient's out‐of pocket expense for the current order.
* Notify customer of shipment.Insurance Verification Call Team (IVC)
* Pharmacy Technician II may work on the IVC team. This functional team supports work cells by verifying insurance for orders being processed in the work cells.
* Call insurance company to verify patient coverage
* Submit patient information online to verify patient coverage for those insurance companies that offer the online service.
* Meet IVC team turnaround time service level agreement with work cells.Patient Care Coordination Team (PCC)• Pharmacy Technician II may work on the Patient Care Coordination Team. This functional team contacts Apria patients to see if they would like APN to provide them pharmacy services along with the nebulizer Apria provides them.• Make outbound calls to existing Apria customers to offer them APN pharmacy services.• Obtain demographic and billing information from prospective APN customer• Enter new accounts in the pharmacy computer system• Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

* High school diploma or GED
* 1 to 3 years of pharmacy or related work experience
* Apria Pharmacy Network personnel are expected to participate in appropriate continuing education as may be requested and/or required by their immediate supervisor or the company. In addition, APN personnel are expected to accept personal responsibility for other educational activities to enhance job‐related skills and abilities and attain any and all necessary continue education credits required for job related licenses. All personnel must attend mandatory educational programs.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations

* Licensed and/or nationally certified technician or the ability to apply for and obtain a license in the state pharmacy is located.

PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee uses his/her hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear. The employee uses computer and telephone equipment. Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision and distance vision. Must be able to travel by plane and automobile (if applicable).

WORK ENVIRONMENTWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee rarely is exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
