The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy seeks a full-time Pharmacy Technician to join our long-term care store in Pittsburgh, PA.
Job Opening: Pharmacy Technician
Worksite Location: 330 South 9th Street, Suite 180, Pittsburgh, PA
Status: Full-time
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday shifts, alternating between 9:00am-5:30pm and 1:30pm-10:00pm. Saturday shifts as needed.
As a Pharmacy Technician you will be accountable for filling prescriptions accurately and efficiently. Typical responsibilities associated with this position are:
- Assists in preparing prescriptions by selecting the pharmaceutical or accessory from stock; counts, pours, reconstitutes or compounds, packages, and labels the product as required
- Operating and maintaining the Automated Pharmacy System (APS) and Unit-Dose Systems
- Programming APS machine to dispense medications in accordance with given prescriptions for review by Pharmacist
- Loading and maintaining APS machine with appropriate medications, packaging material, and printing supplies
- Help troubleshoot technical issues related to APS operation
- Maintaining/replenishing inventory of medications, accessories, and federally controlled drugs

- Previous pharmacy technician experience or related schooling a plus, but not required
- Data Entry experience in a pharmacy setting a plus but not required
- Basic computer skills
