This position will be hired into the newly formed Pharmacy Shared Services. This position will support Banner Family Pharmacy-Home Delivery and Banner Pharmacy Services-Specialty-Care. This department is responsible to fulfill prescription orders and ensure proper labeling and packaging to ship to patients.

As a Pharmacy Technician Fulfillment you will work in the Home Delivery and Specialty Mail Order Pharmacy. You will fill, pack, and ship new patient medication orders and reorders, handle provider consultation, provide pharmacist verification and fulfilment. The position is located in Chandler and is a full time, evening shift opportunity working Monday-Friday from 3:00pm-11:30pm. You will train during the day from 8:30am-5:00pm. Clinical Pharmacy Services are also included in this robust new service line and are responsible for the management of the Banner formulary, development of standardized system wide clinical pharmacy services, and management of adverse drug event preventions. Clinical Pharmacy Services provides collaborative drug therapy management and educational interventions in patient care to optimize medication therapy, improve outcomes, promote wellness, and disease prevention.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position will prepare, dispense, and compound medication under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Provide prescription support services for patients to ensure safe, appropriate, effective and efficient delivery of medication therapy. Provide excellent customer service skills, high attention to detail, strong problem solving, documentation and computer skills. Work closely with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to support pharmaceutical care activities, complete pharmacy billing activities, record keeping, reporting, inventory management, and arrange appropriate medication delivery.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, review and interpret prescriptions and input into the computer for verification by the pharmacist. Communicate with patients and initiate problem resolution on payer issues.

2. Prepare, dispense, and compound appropriate amount of medication under supervision of a pharmacist. Deliver medications accurately to the patient.

3. Answer phones, accept prescriptions, and communicate with patients in waiting area.

4. Assist with inventory, maintain a clean work environment, and assist with any other administrative duties as assigned by supervising pharmacists or senior technicians.

5. Follow policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements and perform other work assignments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION


High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge and/or may be in training for a technical/trades career

Licensed and registered pharmacy technician in the state of practice, where applicable.

Minimal experience, typically gained through 0-2 years relevant work experience. Ability to attend and successfully complete 160 hours of on the job training required. Strong customer service focus, superior problem-solving abilities. Ability to complete moderate to difficult mathematical calculations using a hand-held calculator is required.

BSS Registry Team members and Travelers are not eligible to drive on behalf of Banner and are not required to possess a valid driver's license or be eligible for coverage under the company's auto insurance policy.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associates or bachelor's degree in related field preferred. Proficiency and experience with third party claims adjudication and claims rejection reconciliation preferred. Proficiency and experience with non-sterile, sterile and hazardous drug compounding preferred. Work experience which demonstrates analytical ability, judgment and interpersonal skills in pharmacy or healthcare preferred. Experience and proficiency with computer software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) or comparable program.
