Job DescriptionUnder the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, compounds and dispenses medical prescriptions. May be expected to perform related clerical duties. Receives and stores incoming supplies. Verifies stock and enters data in computer to maintain inventory records.POSITION PURPOSE The Pharmacy Technician performs those duties that provide pharmaceutical care under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. These duties include, but are not limited to: order entry, medication cart filling, making IV admixtures using sterile technique, maintaining pharmacy inventory, filling employee prescriptions, processing charges, and maintaining floor stocks of medications.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education: High school graduate or GED equivalent.
Experience: One years of experience in a hospital or medical environment preferred.
Licenses/Certificates: Current Tennessee Pharmacy Technician license required. Pharmacy Technician Certification Board certificate preferred.
