Position Description
The Pharmacy Tech I will be responsible for assisting the Pharmacist in filling, compounding, and dispensing physician orders. Performs various technical duties involved with the handling, packaging, and delivery of pharmaceuticals. Provides patient care services to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
OMNICELL POSITION SUMMARY:
* Maintains, restocks, and rotates pharmacy IV fluid inventory in designated locations throughout the hospital, including:
* Omnicell ADMs on nursing units.
* Non-automated areas such as fluid carts in procedural areas.
* Pharmacy storage areas.
* Assists with pulling and delivering Omnicell restocks.
* Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures; including safely moving pallets between hospital storage areas.
* Confers with Lead MM Pharmacist and/or Pharmacy Coordinator regarding par level changes, supply change, and other issues as necessary.
SHIFT:
* 7 on/ 7 off Wednesday through Tuesday, 6am-4:30pm
* Training will be Mon - Friday
Position Requirements
REQUIRED:
* Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Georgia
* High school diplomas or equivalent OR Pharmacy student with an Intern License issued by the State Board of Pharmacy in lieu of certification.
* Non-certified technicians will have two years from the date of employment to successfully complete a Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Exam recognized by the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy. Pharmacy Students have a pharmacy intern license and are therefore exempt from certification.
* Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, coworkers, and others as necessary.
PREFERRED:
* Previous inventory management and/or warehouse experience.
* Previous experience with Omnicell Unity pharmacy automation.
* Previous hospital pharmacy experience
