Our client, a world-leading Pharmaceutical Company in Miramar, FL is currently looking for a Pharmacy Technician to join their expanding team.

Position Details:

  • Job Title: Pharmacy Technician / Pharma Industry
  • Duration: 12 months contract, extendable up to 24 months
  • Location: Miramar, FL

Job Description:

  • Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30 pm (shifts may be earlier or later on occasion and possibly a Saturday or Sunday morning on occasion)
  • Title: Research Pharmacy Technician
Job Requirements:
Primary purpose and function of this position:
  • The purpose of the Pharmacy Technician is to assist the Pharmacy team in the day to day needs of the department and research clinic.
  • The pharmacy technician participates in all aspects of WTI pharmaceutical operation including but not limited to receipt, inventory and proper handling of all Investigational Products (IP). Proper documentation of all tasks performed i.e. cleaning, procurement, dispensing and disposition of any IP or ancillary medication i.e. OTC, controlled substances, devices and supplies plus the maintenance and cleaning of equipment and Segregate Compounding Area (SCA).
  • Major duties and responsibilities that are critical and necessary, and that must be done to achieve this position's overall objective
  • ~ % of Time
  • Proper handling and documentation of IP, supplies and/or devices (receipt, inventory, dispense, prepare, compound, dispose of, etc.), creation of labels, dispensing logs, Pharmacy binders, etc. 70%
  • Follow-up i.e. subjects, procurement, vendors, etc. and updating RSVP, accountability logs, etc. 10%
  • Maintaining and/or cleaning of crash carts, equipment, SCA and Pharmacy. 10%
  • Training i.e. study specific or Protocol review and training, Site Initiation Visits (SIV), SOP, EHS, etc. 10%
  • Core competencies (five or six) that an incumbent needs to be successful in this position and that distinguish this position from others similar to it

Education required:

  • High School Diploma, GED or higher

Certification required:

  • Registered as a pharmacy technician with the Florida Board of Pharmacy

Years of experience required:

  • Cleanroom or SCA and sterile compounding experience
  • No research experience is needed to apply.

Specific type of experience required:

  • Must comply with policies, procedures and training
  • Not tech phobic with basic computer skills
  • Love to learn and must be adaptable; this is research!
  • Good communication skills, "written and verbal"
  • Very detail oriented
  • Physical demands of cleaning and lifting of equipment and clinical supplies similar to other pharmacies
