Description
The pharmacy technician prepares and distributes medications under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. These duties include but are not limited to: filling and labeling medications, refilling Pyxis, delivering medications to patient care areas, preparing IV admixture solutions, answering the telephone and directing the call to the appropriate staff, maintaining medication stock levels, maintaining proper storage of medications to ensure safe and cost effective pharmaceutical services. Proficient in basic computer skills and appropriately uses information systems, technology and automation to complete assigned task. The Pharmacy Tech 4 is an experienced and versatile tech that serves as resource to others.

Additional Qualifications:
PTCB or ICPT Certification required. Expected to have at least 2 competencies: Peds, Chemo, OR, C2 Technician, Medication Reconciliation, Backup System Specialist or Backup Buyer, and (specialty positions such as controlled substance technician, lead technician, training scheduler, validations scheduler, inventory management, receiver) additional responsibilities (i.e. provide CE's, charge resource, interdepartmental billing resource, quality assurance management, PI leads, Pharmacy automation, patient assistance program).
