GENERAL SUMMARY:

Provides leadership and oversight of designated area assigned within the pharmacy department. Promotes team efforts to manage and achieve departmental/corporate objectives. Serves as an extension of the management team and supports management by providing supervision, guidance, and support for all assigned areas. Participates in employee management activities for direct reports. Ensures department and personnel compliance with current regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

* Supervises day to day activities of the Pharmacy including (but not limited to) shifting staff to address changes in activity, problem resolution, technology, staff productivity and adherence to policy.
* Oversees and manage designated areas of responsibilities.
* Participates in the scheduling of pharmacy staff including (but not limited to) schedule development, completion of daily assignments and/or staffing changes for sick/call-in coverage.
* Manages personnel activities for direct reports including (but not limitied to) hiring, corrective action, and performance reviews.
* Participates in the development, implementation and monitoring of projects related to pharmacy and medication use throughout the institution. Participate in the development and review of policy and procedures
* Assures regulatory compliance and monitor financial performance of designated pharmacy areas
* Serves as part of the management team to achieve goals of the institution
* Participates in groups and/or committees as assigned
* Additional duties (including staffing responsibilites) as assigned

* Supports, cooperates with and demonstrates safe work practices and attitudes, follows safety rules - including universal precautions - reports and prevents/corrects unsafe conditions and behaviors, and participates in organizational and departmental safety programs.
* Completes all required compliance standards that may be department specific and/or identified by the organization.
* Maintains current licensure, registration and/or certification, as applicable, at all times.

STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS

* Education / Training:
* Pharm.D. or Bachelor degree in pharmacy (residency training preferred).
* Work Experience:
* 4 years of pharmacist experience (or equivalent) with some supervisory experience preferred.
* Certification, Licensure, Registration:
* Unrestricted Pharmacist and Controlled Substance License in good standing with the State of Michigan (or eligible to obtain such licensure).
