Our St. Francis hospital is seeking Pharmacy Residesents for our busy Pharmacy Department. We are looking for your experience, knowledge and patient care skills where you will be responsible for: Responsibilities The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus (TUKHSSFC) PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients through optimizing medication therapy and promotes health, wellness and disease state prevention under the guidance of Clinical Pharmacists. TUKHSSFC PGY1 Pharmacy Residents will uphold American Health-Systems Pharmacists and American College of Clinical Pharmacist philosophy of pharmaceutical care; which is blending a caring orientation with specialized therapeutics. TUKHSSFC PGY1 Pharmacy residency program will abide by the American Health-Systems Pharmacists residency accreditation requirements. TUKHSSFC PGY1 Pharmacy Residents will apply evidenced based therapeutic guidelines, emerging technologies and relevant legal, ethical, social, cultural, economic and professional principles. TUKHSSFC PGY1 Pharmacy Residents will assume responsibility and accountability for managing medication therapy in direct patient care settings, whether practicing independently or in consultation/collaboration with other healthcare professionals. TUKHSSFC PGY1 Pharmacy Residents will generate, disseminate and apply new knowledge that contributes to improved health and quality of life. TUKHSSFC PGY1 Pharmacy Residents will become experts in the therapeutic use of medications and routinely provide medication therapy evaluations and recommendations Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education/Experience: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm D from an accredited school of pharmacy. Failure to obtain active Kansas licensure by September 30th of that year will result in termination. Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from residency directors, preceptors, other healthcare professionals, patients, and the general public. Excellent customer service skills. Math Ability: Ability to apply advanced pharmaceutical mathematical concepts including but not limited to the following: pharmacokinetic calculations, Child Pugh score, Cockcroft- Gault calculations, and other pertinent calculations based on patient population. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Computer Skills: Spreadsheets, Internet, E-mail, PowerPoint, Word, Excel and database software. Certificates and Licenses: Eligible for licensure in the state of Kansas. Must obtain active license by September 30th. Failure to obtain active licensure within designated time frame will result in termination.
