PURPOSE OF POSITION The purpose of the PGY-1 pharmacy resident position is to develop the resident skills and knowledge required to promote, recommend, and deliver quality pharmaceutical care. # RESPONSIBILITIES # EXPECTATIONS The residents will actively participate in the provision of pharmaceutical care as they are trained and rotate through the different areas of the pharmacy department.# ##They will progress through the Resident Learning System (RLS) and show achievement in all of the required goals and objectives of the program by the completion of the residency year.# Residents who are in good standing, complete all of the goals and objectives, and satisfactorily complete all assigned work and assignments will receive a certificate of successful program completion.# General Resident Responsibilities: Residents will report to assigned preceptors and be responsible for all assigned daily duties. Residents will participate in Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee meetings and other committees as assigned by the resident preceptor and residency program director. Residents will complete preceptor, rotation and self evaluation forms at the end of each rotation Residents will meet individually with the residency director to discuss progress and evaluation. Residents will complete a residency project approved by a residency preceptor and the residency director and will submit a written manuscript to the residency director and project preceptor at the end of the residency. The written manuscript is in the style for submission to a peer review journal. Job Requirements
