Overview

For more than 70 years, Mercy Medical Center Redding has offered comprehensive health care in the North State, providing acute care and a full range of medical services. The 267-bed hospital offers major medical services including a Level II Trauma Center as well as specialized Cardiovascular Care, Stroke Care, Orthopedics, Neurological Surgery, Comprehensive Cancer Care, Maternity Care, and da Vinci Robotic Surgery. It is the sole provider of obstetrical services, along with the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Shasta County. In addition, the hospital's network of care includes Mercy Home Health and Hospice and Dignity Health Connected Living. Mercy Medical Center Redding is a member of the Dignity Health system and is a sister facility to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff and Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta. Responsibilities

Job Summary:

Under direct supervision the incumbent will participate in and provide experience all technical and professional aspects of the provision of pharmaceutical services. Learning objectives and assignments must be completed in all assigned rotations. The program will require a minimum of 2,000 hours to accomplish the basic intent of the ASHP Residency Standards plus provide for special training in an area of emphasis. This position provides care/service to a critically ill through rehabilitating neonatal through geriatric patient population in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional and/or developmental age of the individual served. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of the Organization. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support the Organization's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP). The position will report to the Director Pharmacy.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

* Knowledge of unit dose systems, IV admixture, chemotherapy, clinical pharmacology, pharmacokinetics and drug use evaluation
* Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS Pharmacy Degree
* Must a licensed Pharmacist within 90 days of starting the position
* BLS and ACLS certification required within 30 days of start date.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Pharm.D degree
* PALS, ENLS certification
