Lauderdale, FLDescriptionWHO WE ARE Polaris Pharmacy Services is an industry leader in long-term and post-acute care pharmacy.OVERVIEW:The Pharmacy Floor Technician picks, labels, scans, and otherwise prepares the finished prescription for final verification by a pharmacist.SCHEDULE: M-F3p-11:3p with rotating weekends.Responsibilities: Package materials and products manuallyPre-packing frequently ordered medications, label, and stockPreparation of the finished prescription product, proper labeling, including cautionary and auxiliary labels, as well as other light warehouse dutiesMay fill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently and in a timely and prioritized manner, under the supervision of a pharmacistAssist in processing returned drugs and recycle/dispose per procedureAssist in shipping and preparing orders for deliveryAssist in creating, maintaining, and exchanging emergency drug kitsAssist in sanitizing IV room, equipment, and hoodAssist in replenishing stock and consumablesFollow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAAMaintain clean/organized workstation areas and replenish all stock supplies needed each shiftAlert pharmacist on duty of any medication/product that is not scanning properlyComply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress codeOvertime, holidays, and weekends may be required and/or expectedOther duties as assigned; Job duties may vary depending on business needsQualificationsQUALIFICATIONSHigh School diploma or equivalent requiredPharmacy technician licenses/certifications required by state regulations and state of practice Previous pharmacy experience preferred but not necessary (one or more years of long-term care or retail pharmacy ideal)Knowledge of brand name/generic medicationsAble to work at a moderate speedAble to read, write, speak, and understand the English language Able to work during inclement weatherReliableRegistered technician or in the process of registration Good organization/Attention to detailAnalytical/Problem solverAble to physically perform light liftingMust be able to work various shifts and days PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that should be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:May sit or stand seven (7) to ten (10) hours per dayThe employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, walk, crawl intermittentlyMay be necessary to work extended hours as neededMay lift and/or move up to 50 poundsThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this roleHOLIDAY & PTO POLICYWe provide qualifying full-time employees with 23 PTO (Paid Time Off) days annually.
