JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY: The Pharmacy Operations Manager will be an expert in pharmacy operations and medication-use systems. This Manager will take on advanced responsibilities in the areas of pharmacy operations, technology and automation, medication safety, quality improvement, compliance, pharmacists and technicians oversight and training, medication compounding and preparation, and education related to all aspects of pharmacy operations. The Pharmacy Operations Manager will report to the Assistant Director of Pharmacy to provide safe, timely, efficient, equitable, effective, and patient-centered medication use. Education Pharm D from an accredited college or university or BS in Pharmacy from an accredited pharmacy school, college or university with 3-5 years of pharmacy experience. Experience 5 years progressive, related experience; 2 years supervisory experience or two years of post-graduate residency training, including supervisory duties and PGY2 in Pharmacy Management Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Advanced knowledge of personnel practices such as timekeeping, monitoring attendance, evaluating and improving performance, handling employee complaints, and taking disciplinary action.# Advanced knowledge of current Federal and State laws regulating the practice of pharmacy. Advanced knowledge of drug nomenclature, including generic-trade names, different types of packaging and units of issue. Skill in using computer and a variety of personal productivity applications. Skill in data analysis and interpretation. Skill in managing, motivating and developing staff. Skill in managing fiscal and human resources. Skill in oral communication. Skill in managing teams. Ability to use critical thinking skills to resolve issues. Ability to set priorities, multitask, and meet deadlines. Ability to support routine surveillance, investigation, and Drug Diversion Prevention Program development activities. Knowledge of educational methods and experiential training Performs other duties as requested. Licensures, Certifications Current state licensure as a Pharmacist or eligible to obtain license 60 days after hired Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk up to seventy-five percent (75%) of the time. Working Conditions Normal pharmacy environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust and the like.# Occasional exposure to disagreeable temperatures.# Occasional exposure to carcinogenic materials with preparing medications.
