Position Summary

The Manager of Oncology Pharmacy Services is responsible for performing advanced clinical pharmacy duties to ensure the optimal delivery of oncologic agents in an ambulatory (clinic based) setting and promote high quality, evidence-based, cost-effective pharmaceutical care. This includes but is not limited to ensuring the accuracy and safety of chemotherapy admixture, dispensing of oral oncological agents, chemotherapy order review and verification, inventory management, and therapeutic drug monitoring. This role is responsible for provider and patient education and will serve as a drug information resource to the medical team. The Manager of Oncology Pharmacy Services will also participate in the development, provision, and evaluation of comprehensive pharmaceutical care standard operating procedures and treatment guidelines and will develop/implement pharmacy programs to include various quality, safety, and cost savings initiatives as are clinically appropriate. This position will train, supervise and validate all work performed by the oncology pharmacists and pharmacy technicians and will be accountable for the management of the daily workflow.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

* The manager is responsible for management of MCMF owned oncology practices as it relates to areas of pharmacy operations including but not limited to the optimal delivery of oral dispensing, safe and accurate chemotherapy admixture and inventory management.
* Oversee daily workflow to include training and validation of all work performed by the pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
* Oversee departmental processes, policies and procedures, training, education, and communication.
* Analyze and report on program trends, including timeliness, outcomes and cost.
* Actively participate with the oncology care team pertaining to the patient's treatment plan using evidence-based medicine and clinical guideline from NCCN and ASCO.
* Participate in provider and patient education on relevant clinical updates.
* Support implementation of initiatives for clinical pharmacy services and analytics.
* Other duties as assigned.
