Position Title: Pharmacist-in-Charge (Pharmacy Manager)
Reports To: Managing Pharmacist-in-Charge
Location: NPS Pharmacy at Positively Living/Choice Health Network (Knoxville, TN)

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises all employees in the Pharmacy. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Plans, directs, revises, and modifies pharmacy procedures and workflow.

Assigns, assists with, and supervises the work of a staff of professional and technical personnel in the dispensing of medications.

Plan and maintain adequate staffing of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians for day to day operations.

Serve on the Quality Management Committee as part of senior management. Oversee the Quality Improvement Projects, complaints, and overall customer satisfaction. This accounts for 10% of the pharmacy manager overall responsibilities.

Track and approve vacation and PTO for all pharmacy personnel.

Manage all HR issues as they relate to benefits offered by the pharmacy.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations - Current State of Tennessee Pharmacist License (Must be in good standing)

Education and/or Experience - B.S. in Pharmacy or PharmD and two to four years related experience and/or training.

Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills - Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Windows Internet software, ProPharm pharmacy software, Pioneer Rx pharmacy software, McKesson order entry software, and patient management software.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
HIV - Has experience providing direct pharmaceutical care, serving as a drug information and patient education resource, and assisting with the monitoring of patients living with in the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), including:
  • Experience providing comprehensive pharmaceutical support to patients living with HIV in a clinical environment
  • Currently has or is willing to obtain the HIV Pharmacist™ (AAHIVP) certification by the American Academy of HIV Medicine
LGBTQ+ Community - Has experience providing direct pharmaceutical care, serving as a drug information and patient education resource, and assisting with the monitoring of patients who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community, including:
  • Experience providing comprehensive pharmaceutical support to patients who identify as LGBTQ+ in a clinical environment
  • Currently has or is willing to acquire foundational knowledge about key concepts and terminologies relevant to the LGBTQ population, including but not limited to: pronoun usage, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identities, and intersectionality of multiple identities.
340B Program - Has in-depth knowledge and understanding of the 340B Program, including providing oversight and leadership from the pharmacy, including:
  • Serving as the site-specific "compliance expert or authority" on 340B regarding program details, policies, and procedures of the virtual inventory processes required for contract pharmacy relationships.
  • Serving as a primary internal liaison to key stakeholders to help ensure appropriate utilization of the 340B Program and compliance with all program requirements.
