The Pharmacy IT and Projects Analyst assists the Director of Pharmacy in the monitoring, review, and analysis of pharmacy medication systems. This includes software for automatic dispensing cabinets, software for 340b analysis, EHR files and analysis, and error messages related to this software. Position requires analysis and project management ability to triage issues and bring them to a full resolution.

STATUS: Part-time (20 hours)

LOCATION: United Memorial Medical Center




* Associates degree in Information Technology/Services or related field required. Bachelor Degree preferred.

* Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word primarily).


* Lead IT Support for the Hospital's Pharmacy Information System and Communication with Related Systems - trouble shooting, system improvements, monthly updates, system changes/upgrades, process changes, policy changes, system testing, interfaces, and continuous improvement.

* Management of Pharmacy's Drug Database - additions, deletes, edits FDB updates, allergy information, bar-coding information, order sets, order strings, CPOE (POM) information, trouble shooting, continuous improvement.

* New Pharmacy IT initiatives - planning, decision support, implementation, go-lives, trouble shooting, education, project management, working closely with Pharmacy management, CIO, and Hospital IT team.

* IT support for other Pharmacy related systems and software - automated dispensing machines (Pyxis), 340B management system (Sentry), med error data system (Pharmacy Onesource), ud repacking software (Euclid), barcoding software (PakEdge), Smart Pumps.

* Other Pharmacy Projects - assists and sometimes lead other pharmacy related projects and tasks as assigned by the Pharmacy Director.

* Involvement in Pharmacy QI, QM, Regulatory Compliance, Accreditation, Medical Safety.

* Prepare and maintain policies and procedures related to Pharmacy Information Systems.

* Assist with Pharmacy Workload - during periods of short staffing or excessive workload, assist Pharmacy Technicians with some duties that are within trained ability.

* Pharmacy Related Reports - Development and Maintenance.
