Overview

The primary purpose of this position is to lead a pharmacy district of up to thirty-six (36) retail pharmacy locations in their day-to-day operations while fostering a culture of high associate engagement. Responsible for leading the deployment and execution of pharmacy strategies and initiatives that enhance our customer experience and grow traditional pharmacy business, clinical initiatives, and market share. Ensures all budgetary goals are met or exceeded while maintain compliance with all State and Federal laws and regulations. Communicates organizational and department focuses and plans in a clear and timely manner that foster a culture of associate engagement and create buy in. Oversees staffing and talent development, including the hiring and development of Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacists, and Interns and for the creation of a talent pipeline for their assigned district. Maintains collaborative business relationships with extended store operations leaders and store management teams to communicate district and store strategies to improve overall prescription growth, sales growth, and margin as well as methods to control inventory and shrink. Evaluates and reviews as series of metrics on the department's key performance indicators and benchmarks trends to identify opportunities and create plans for improvement. Serves as front-line regulatory support and provides guidance in creating company policy within the district. Responsible for ensuring the district operates in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws.

The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

* Leads the day-to-day operations of a pharmacy district team of up to thirty-six (36) retail pharmacy locations.
* Maintains a culture resulting in high associate engagement and an organization that is viewed as the employer of choice for pharmacy in their district.
* Responsible for leading the deployment and execution of pharmacy strategies and initiatives that enhance our customer experience and grow traditional pharmacy business, clinical initiatives, and market share in their respected district.
* Ensures all budgetary goals are met or exceeded by influencing the early adoption of department strategies to improve key department metrics including script growth, sales, and gross profit.
* Oversees staffing and talent development, including the hiring and development of Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacists, and Interns and for the creation of a talent pipeline for their assigned district. Engage in recruitment and hiring process as well as the onboarding, training, and retention of pharmacy associates.
* Works to identify and develop talent within the district to increase employee engagement and develop district succession plans.
* Communicates organizational and department information in a clear and timely manner that is clear and concise in content.
* Responsible for ensuring appropriately staffed pharmacies with in the district. Partners with the Pharmacy Scheduler to ensure schedules are correctly filled and properly communicated.
* Evaluates and reviews a series of metrics on the department's key performance indicators for opportunities to improve results including, but not limited to: prescription count, sales, gross profit, market share, patient adherence, clinical services, payroll, inventory, and shrink.
* Assure Continuous Quality Improvement Program compliance is maintained within the district.
* Continually evaluates the district to identify areas of opportunities or non-compliance with the ability to problem solve and develop solutions.
* Responsible for associate relations with direct reports including hiring, termination, evaluations, performance management, development, and training. Additionally, supports Pharmacy Mangers with these responsibilities pertaining to store pharmacy teams.
* Maintains collaborative business relationships with extended store operations leaders and store management teams to communicate district and store strategies to improve overall prescription growth, sales growth, and margin as well as methods to control inventory and shrink.
* Review and evaluate completion of department tasks and follow through to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner.
* Review processes to ensure inventory management provides appropriate in-stock for customer prescription demands while avoiding unnecessary shrink. Optimizes inventory dollars by proper days on-hand, effective return procedures, and supports pharmacy inventory processes.
* Responsible for ensuring customer service programs are properly executed to create a high level of customer trust, loyalty, and satisfaction. Assists with the resolution of customer concerns.
* Maintains a working knowledge of all pharmacy systems, technologies, and programs.
* Partners with Pharmacy Regional Manager to design, develop, and execute pharmacy operations strategies and delivery of key programs/services to support the district team.
* Maintains a working knowledge of market competition and changes and actively works to protect market share in their assigned region.
* Partners with Pharmacy Training and Implementation Supervisor and pharmacy operations to provide recommendations for training programs and assists in their development as needed. Responsible for overseeing training is completed within their assigned district.
* Maintains awareness of developments in the profession of pharmacy that relate to job responsibilities and integrates them into own practice.
* Assess and align department competencies and the effectiveness of workflow within the pharmacy. Provide recommendations to improve the efficiencies of the Pharmacy layout and guidelines.
* Assists the Pharmacy Operations team in the creation of pharmacy goals, initiatives, and strategy to improve overall associate engagement and department growth and success.
* Serves as a front-line regulatory resource providing support and guidance to the Pharmacy Operations team ensuring compliance is maintained with all State and Federal regulations within the states they cover.
* Prepares and presents information pertaining to their district as requested.
* Complies with all federal and state laws and regulations.

Job Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Doctoral degree (PHARM.D.) or equivalent in Pharmacy, plus five (5) years' experience in retail pharmacy and with at least two (2) years as a pharmacy manager; or equivalent combination of education and experience. In addition, working knowledge of pharmacy systems is helpful.
