Director of Pharmacy Services at University of Colorado Hospital

Reporting to the Vice President Pharmacy Services at UCHealth, this role directs the department's activities and resources to ensure alignment with the mission, values, and objectives of the department and organization.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

* Ensures that all medication regulatory, accreditation, quality, and contractual standards are consistently met or exceeded, including 340B hospital compliance.
* Develops and successfully implements policies and practices that promote medication quality and safety for all hospital medication management areas, taking appropriate action as needed to improve operational and clinical practices.
* Identifies and facilitates the implementation of medication-related, evidence-based outcomes and total cost-of-care optimizing strategies
* Partners with physician and nursing leadership to leverage pharmaceutical and medical expertise, improve and promote health and quality care, and assure appropriate use of medications and prudent use of resources.
* Collaborates with the hospital CFO in the departmental budget development and with monitoring of performance to achieve financial goals; initiates pharmaceutical cost containment and cost avoidance strategies.
* Leads professional/ management development programs to promote the continued growth and effectiveness of hospital staff
* Oversees the development and successful implementation of hospital 340B compliance and optimization strategies

Requirements:

* PharmD required.
* Eligible for state licensure; Colorado Registered Pharmacist License will be required at time of hire
* Successful completion of an ASHP accredited Residency Program preferred
* 7+ years in a hospital pharmacy setting (preferably in an academic setting) with progressive experience in Pharmacy Management
* Expert clinical knowledge and a strong background in all aspects of pharmaceutical delivery; Experience implementing 340B compliance and optimization strategies
* Comprehensive knowledge of all HEDIS, CMS, FDA, CDC and other applicable state, federal, state licensing, and other local regulations as they relate to pharmacy services, as well as broad knowledge of the healthcare industry, including current and emerging trends and new technologies
* Strong planning, financial management, analytical, and problem solving skills required

The midpoint pay for this position is: $99.60 / hour. Midpoint is based on approximately 10-15 years of relevant work experience. An annual bonus may be paid to eligible employees based upon organizational and individual performance.
