Description

The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy seeks a part-time courier to join our long-term care store in Pittsburgh, PA.

Job Opening: Pharmacy Courier

Location: 330 S 9th Street, Pittsburgh PA

Status: Part-time

Work Schedule:Variable schedule about 15-20 hours per week, shifts available Monday-Sunday mornings, afternoons, and nights. On-call shifts also required on a rotating basis.

As a delivery driver you will be accountable for timely, courteous, and safe delivery of prescription medications and OTC products from our pharmacy in Pittsburgh to customers throughout Western and Central Pennsylvania. A typical shift starts at the pharmacy, covers about 300 miles with multiple stops at customer facilities before returning to the pharmacy at the end of the shift. Typical responsibilities associated with this position are:

+ Exchange and verify medications and supplies orders with nursing staff at customer facilities

+ Re-stock medication carts at customer facilities with single-dose medications, updating computer inventory and rotating stock

+ Maintain proper care, fueling, maintenance, and safe operation of company vehicle(s) including cleanliness and appearance

+ Support resolution of customer questions, problems, or complaints through communication with pharmacy staff on each incident

+ A company-owned vehicle is provided for the performance of this job and available during work hours only

In addition to being organized, attentive to detail, communicates effectively, customer oriented, and highly accurate the successful candidate for this position must also have the following qualifications:

+ Must have a valid driver's license (CDL not necessary) and driving record free of excessive violations

+ Must be at least 21 years old

+ Must be able to operate a passenger motor vehicle (up to six hours at a time) and obey road rules

+ Must be able to read, write and speak clearly

+ Must be available to participate in an on-call rotation to make unscheduled (STAT) deliveries after end of shift or over the weekend when requested

+ Must be able to lift and carry up to 25lbs

+ Must be able to provide proof of being fully-vaccinated against COVID-19 following a contingent offer of employment and prior to the start of work.

Prior to beginning work, successful applicants must complete a background check consisting of criminal records check, Medicare exclusions check, employment verification, education verification, drug test, licensure/certification verification, and DMV motor vehicle record check, as applicable.

Prior to beginning employment, candidates must be able to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination status, or willing to obtain COVID-19 vaccination.
