Under direct supervision of JHOC Pharmacy Manager and Director of Customer Service for JHHCG, primarily interacts with clients, interdisciplinary caregivers, and international patients. The Pharmacy Coordinator/JHI serves as a liaison to the outpatient pharmacy and works closely with the JHI Relationship Manager, Pharmacy Team Lead for JHI Business, Care Management, medical staff, discharge coordinators to assist them with any pharmacy questions or pharmacy services. The JHI Pharmacy Coordinator also provides back up assistance to the JHI Relationship Manager and/or Pharmacy Team Lead for JHI Business roles and other pharmacy technician duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education:

* High School Diploma or Equivalency

Knowledge:

* Of pharmacy work routines, procedures, materials and/or equivalent
* Of pharmaceutical mathematics
* Computer knowledge for data entry of prescriptions.
* Of third party plans and how they are processed.
* Of drug names (generic and brand)
* Of pharmacy terminology
* Payor verification and authorization procedures

Skills:

* Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; including written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work with computers for data entry and manipulation
* Ability to handle multiple tasks in a busy environment
* Ability to interact well with customers
* Ability to keep good records for all work performed
* Ability to answer the phone courteously

Required Licensure, Certification, etc.:

* Registration with the Maryland Board of Pharmacy is required upon hire.

Work Experience:

* Two (2) years retail pharmacy technician experience preferred.
* At least 1 year customer service experience in a healthcare setting
