**Position description**

The Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Coordinator provides leadership, oversight, and supervision of sterile compounding activities in the Pharmacy Department, and is responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory and legal guidelines governing the sterile compounding practice. Actively promotes, facilitates, and participates in departmental activities and projects. Responsible for the daily oversight and supervision of and performance management of direct reports. Participates in distribution, consultation, drug therapy monitoring, education and / or research Pharmacy Services and collaborates with others to optimize these services.

**Qualifications**

Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy (Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree and five years' experience or with an accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency and three years of experience. At least one year of experience should be in the applicable pharmacy area. Previous pharmacy leadership experience with demonstrated commitment to excellence and collaborative work with others.

**Additional qualifications**

The following are preferred: Demonstration of mastery of USP 797 and 800 standards. Sterile Compounding experience, including non-sterile to sterile compounding. Experience managing sterile compounding operations. Experience in drafting, updating, and implementing sterile compounding policy and procedures. Current, active Board Certification through the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS). Florida Board of Pharmacy Consultant Pharmacist License. Demonstration of excellence in leadership and team building skills. Participation in pharmacy practice education and research. Participation in scholarly activities including publication and scientific meeting presentation. Completion of a Post-Graduate Year 2 residency in an appropriate specialty and Board Certification by the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties or equivalent experience. Supervisory experience (if none, completion of a Mayo supervisory training program required within 6 months of hire). Project management and coordination skills. Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and database applications. Ability to communicate effectively, work collaboratively with others, and work independently with minimal supervision.

**License or certification**

Eligible for licensure by the Florida Board of Pharmacy. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 3 months of hire for positions that provide direct patient care.
