The role you'll contribute:
Prepares and organizes pharmacy medications by name and dosage, as listed on patient orders. Supports pharmacists and provides distributive pharmacy services. To provide safe and accurate medication services and to support all those involved in direct patient care. The Pharmacy Buyer/Pharmacy Technician III performs a wide range of supportive duties to assist the Pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medication so that patients receive consistent care. Duties include transmitting multiple drug orders, reconciling, and receiving invoices. In addition, this position is responsible for maintaining inventory system accuracy, data integrity, local level audit controls and inventory levels to prevent product and/or supply stock-outs. Coordinates pharmaceutical product recalls, all reverse logistics activities and annual inventory processes.

Maintains operational expertise in and actively provides coverage of the technician services provided by
• Central Pharmacy
• IV Room
• Delivery
• Controlled Substances
AND (at least one of the following):
• Oncology Compounding
• Quality Assurance & Sampling
• Technician Inventory Check
• Medication History
• Clinical Services
Oversees appropriate utilization of medication automation, technology, and computer systems
• Accurately interprets electronic records
• Maintains expertise in Cerner processes
• Manages proper and complete patient profile record
Accurately oversees the management of medication inventories and the preparation and delivery of patient-specific medication doses
• Manages medication delivery activities
• Prepares accurate medication products for delivery
• Prevents improper drug, dose, dosage form selection, expiration dating, and barcode scanning issues when checking products
• Performs oral and injectable product compounding

Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • 3+ years experience
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
  • Buyer or purchasing experience in a pharmacy or medical related field
  • Associates degree in related field
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
  • Applicable State Pharmacy Technician Registration (RPT)
  • If applicable to facility Sterile Compounding Certification
  • Current certification from Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or from the Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ICPT)
