Position Summary:# The Pharmacy Business Manager collaborates with Pharmacy Administration to develop and implement various projects and strategies as they relate to the business of pharmacy. The Pharmacy Business Manager will work with appropriate departments to assure the accuracy of pharmacy charges, evaluate pharmacy charge systems, and maintain pharmacy systems used to create patient charges. This position will provide oversight of purchasing and inventory functions in conjunction with the buyer and Director of Pharmacy to include contract review/compliance and expense minimization. Maintains the integrity of the 340B program to minimize cost and ensure compliance with federal regulations. Assists with controlled substance requirements related to federal and state law. Job Specifications:# Education:#### Required:#Bachelor#s degree in Business Administration, Finance or Health Care Administration or similar degree## Preferred:#Master#s degree in related fields. If no Master#s degree upon hire, must achieve by 24 months of start date. Experience:# Required:#Five (5) years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified (will accept minimum education in lieu of experience) Preferred:#Seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience in an hospital pharmacy setting License/Certification:# Required:#NA Preferred:#Licensed as a Certified Pharmacy Technician through the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy Special Skills/Training:# Required:#Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work in a complex team environment and to collaborate with both external and internal professionals and other customers, computer skills; efficient in Microsoft Office products. Thorough knowledge of inventory management, pharmaceuticals, IV room pharmaceuticals and supplies, warehousing, receiving and distribution processes. Ability to work with computers and departmental applications. Ability to perform cost analysis of pharmaceuticals. Knowledge of purchasing and budgeting processes. Strong organizational and time management skills, including ability to work independently and prioritize multiple projects and assignments. Preferred:#Proficiency with electronic health record and other pharmacy related software. Knowledge of basic accounting principles, financial management, and ability to perform cost analysis of pharmaceuticals. Extensive knowledge of NDC codes and basic knowledge of medical terminology and HCPCS codes required.
