Job Description:

The Pharmacy 340b Coordinator is responsible for managing the 340b program throughout Gundersen Health System (GHS). General duties include oversight of 340b operations, regulatory compliance, auditing, monitoring financial performance, and facilitating processes to optimize purchasing medications under the 340b program. The Coordinator will act as a consultant on behalf of GHS facilities to prioritize and implement programs related to long-term care, home care, ambulatory pharmacy, employee prescription program development and contract pharmacy agreements related to 340b

Major Responsibilities:

1. Ensures policies and procedures approved by the 340b Oversight Committee are implemented according to GHS, regional, state, national, and federal guidelines, specifically the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and Office of Pharmacy Affairs (OPA).

2. Coordinates 340b program activities with all departments involved in the program including pharmacy, central billing, compliance, IS, purchasing, radiology, contract sites, child sites, and Critical Access Hospitals.

3. Analyzes, performs and reports on monthly audits on covered entities, contract pharmacies, ensuring patient and provider eligibility; as well as active participation in audit preparation and is accountable for audit interaction as a face-to-face member of the facility audit team during consultant or HRSA audits.

4. Analyzes, performs and reports on monthly audits to monitor and interpret utilization records including 340b purchasing accounts to ensure source system software is reconciled properly and accurately, including but not limited to CDM, charges, utilization, and drug eligibility.

5. Monitors outpatient points of service to determine eligibility or risk of non-eligible providers qualifying scripts.

6.Develops in conjunction with 340b, authorized official, director of reimbursement, and pharmacy leadership, action plans to close identified gaps.

7. Participates in projects, committees, and special initiatives related to 340b.

8. Develops and maintains internal relationships to ensure sound operation of the 340b program at the GHS and national level.

9. Attends national 340b conferences, 340b University, and monitors external sources in conjunction with GHS External Affairs to keep current of the latest developments regarding the 340b program

10. Performs other job-related responsibilities as requested.

Education:

Required: Bachelor's degree

Work Experience:

Required: 3-4 years in healthcare or finance and pharmacy
