More information will be provided to you throughout the interview process. Texas Oncology is looking for a Manager of Pharmacy Services to join our team! This position will cover all of the Texas Oncology sites on an as-needed basis. Reimbursement for travel is provided. What does the Manager, Pharmacy Services do? The Manager of Pharmacy Services oversees pharmacy operations to ensure pharmacy requirements are met. Oversees department job functions and ensures department operates within budget. Establishes and implements departmental policies and procedures. Initiates and follows quality assurance and safety policies and procedures. Consults with physicians and other clinicians to provide expertise on all pharmacy related issues. Analyzes and reports pharmacological and disease management information. Provides hematology/oncology clinical analysis expertise to physicians and clinical staff. Conducts pharmacoeconomic and outcomes research. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Responsibilities The essential duties and responsibilities: Researches and performs critical and statistical analysis of medical and scientific evidence as the basis for disease management guidelines and pharmacoeconomic comparisons of cancer therapies and regimens. In coordination with the Corporate Office, develops pharmacoeconomic models for cancer treatment alternatives for case rating, capitation forecasts, and cost of goods sold reductions. Process Improvement Program for assigned network. Oversees pharmacy services in accordance with governmental, legal requirements, and other regulatory standards. Manages the selection and training/orientation of departmental personnel. Assumes overall responsibility for pharmacy inventory, assuring proper inventory levels, pricing, drug outages, recalls, etc. Prepare medication orders by compounding or admixing medications under supervision of a physician. Checks all orders for completeness of information. Checks all orders for insurance approval before admixing. Under a professional's supervision, admixes drugs as ordered by physician in an accurate and timely manner as per department guidelines, and preparing all drugs within OSHA guidelines and interoffice guidelines. Calculates correct dosage volumes, converting between metric and apothecary equivalents. Qualifications The ideal candidate for the Manager, Pharmacy Services position will have the following background and experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of pharmacy and current state licensure. Minimum 3 years of experience as a registered pharmacist in a pharmacy with I.V. skills. I.V. certification strongly preferred. Oncology background preferred.
