Join our Avera Pharmacy Residency program as a PGY2 Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership resident. The qualified applicant will have completed an ASHP accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency and have a PharmD degree. This residency develops residents able to navigate the complexity of the pharmacy enterprise within a health system to become a strong leader in the profession. Learning experiences are included in areas such as acute care clinical and operational services, specialty pharmacy, health plan, informatics, and other areas. Residents work every third weekend and one evening every other week. This is a post-match "scramble" position - those that meet the base requirements may apply.
JOB SUMMARY: Participates, under supervision of residency preceptors, in the provision of comprehensive clinical pharmacy services and quality assurance programs. Rotates through an established program of education as assigned by the Department. Performs pharmacist staffing duties, which include compounding and dispensing medications, and monitoring medication therapy.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
* Pharm.D. degree and completion of a 1st year general Residency Program required.
CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, and/or REGISTRATIONS:
* Registered Pharmacist in the state of South Dakota within the first 45 days of employment is required.
