Responsibilities

Job Summary

* Clinical staff pharmacist is responsible for the accurate identification, preparation and distribution of drugs, the monitoring of patient drug therapies, and the provision of pharmaceutical care to patients served. Pharmacists supervise and direct ancillary personnel (technicians, interns) working in their immediate area. In the absence of a pharmacy supervisor, a pharmacist may be required to assume essential responsibilities and perform the duties of the pharmacy manager. Duties include handling credit card payments according to Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards

(PCI-DSS). In addition to the normal background check, a credit check screening will be completed in compliance with Dignity Health's policy. This position provides care/service to the acutely ill patient from neonatal through geriatric patient population in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional and/or developmental age of the individual served. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of the Organization. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support the Organization's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).

Qualifications

Experience:

* Previous hospital and clinical pharmacy experience preferred.

Education:

* Graduate of a School of Pharmacy with Pharm D
* Completion of an ASHP residency- preferred.

Licensure:

* Current CA Registered Pharmacist License
* BLS certification required
* ACLS Card is recommended

Training:

* Knowledge of unit dose systems, IV admixture, chemotherapy, clinical pharmacology, pharmacokinetics and drug use evaluation required

Special Skills:

* Bilingual preferred
