In this position you will:

* ENSURING QUALITY OF CARE: Follow established department policies and procedures to ensure all medications are dispensed accurately and on a timely basis. Plan, assess, implement, evaluate, and document all aspects of pharmaceutical care. Support the policies and goals of the medical center to ensure the effectiveness of the department and that employees are able to perform their work efficiently.
* LEADERSHIP/SUPERVISON: Provide appropriate guidance and direction to other personnel to ensure the continuing quality of pharmacy services. Guidance and direction are provided to staff members, which contribute to the overall quality of pharmacy services. Implement care/services that recognize age/diversity specific needs/issues of customers served.
* COMMUNICATION: Communicate with team members to obtain or provide information and identify patient or other needs.
* CUSTOMER SERVICE: Develop and maintain public relations both internally with patients, physicians, and co-workers, and externally with visitors and community members to promote a positive.
* COLLABORATES: The staff pharmacist coordinate with other departments to provide pharmacy services and collaborate with other team members to use resources efficiently.
* STAFF DEVELOPMENT: The staff pharmacist will strive to integrate the pharmacy into the overall team and work in harmony to provide optimum care to the patients/residents and maintain a good public image. The staff pharmacist ensure employees are well oriented and in-serviced on an ongoing basis.
* Implement care/services that recognize age/diversity specific needs/issues of customers served.
* Complete Competency Plan for assigned job and department.

Required qualifications for this position include:

* Bachelor's of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college program.
* Current Alaska Pharmacy License.
* BLS or the ability to attain certification within 90 days of date of hire required.
* 6 months Experience in an applicable setting.

About Kodiak Island Medical Center

Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center (PKIMC) provides comprehensive health care to residents and visitors of Kodiak Island. This critical access hospital features 25 acute care beds, including four birthing suites, one OB triage room, and two ICU beds. In addition, the Elder House, PKIMC's long term care facility, has 22 beds.

PKIMC provides an extensive array of inpatient and outpatient services, including emergency department, surgery, laboratory services, maternity, general medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, sleep studies, specialty clinics, diagnostic imaging services and pharmacy and is staffed by a mix of primary care physicians, surgeons and specialists who provide family practice, internal medicine, obstetrics, radiology and general practice.
