**Responsibilities**

The person serving in the position of Pharmacist works under the supervision/direction of the Director of Pharmacy. The Pharmacist assists with the administration and coordination of all pharmacy activities: fills, compounds, labels, and dispenses physician orders for drugs and pharmaceutical. The Pharmacist serves as a consultant to various CHI St. Gabriel's Health facilities and assumes responsibility for dispensing and profiling all orders. The Pharmacist serves in a multidisciplinary capacity providing general services to a wide variety of populations including pediatric, medical, surgical, orthopedic, geriatric, post-partum and nursery areas.

**Essential Key Job Responsibilities**

1. Coordination of Pharmacy functions for Medications Reconciliation, Renal dosing, Kinetics, IV production including TPN's, Chemotherapy, Medication verification, Compounding, Automatic Dispensing Cabinets, Patient education and Dispensing of medications. If working as Pharmacist Lead in Retail Pharmacy functions would include, Retail prescriptions, Hospice consulting, and oversight of the day to day activities. The following elements are essential to accomplish these functions.

4. Time Management; Prioritizes work responsibilities to focus daily activities and maximize use of unscheduled time, efficiently and productively juggles multiple tasks.

5. Decision Making; Gathers the necessary information and makes timely and good decisions by calling on varied resources and sound judgment and instincts to evaluate the relative merit and significance of the information at hand, prioritizes to maintain balance between addressing important issues and handling urgent problems.

6. Teamwork; Acts as a valuable, collaborative team member by demonstrating willingness to assume a variety of roles within a group - leader, follower, facilitator; seeks opportunities to build team effectiveness by developing cooperative relationships, exchanging ideas and preventing and resolving problems.

8. **Qualifications**

**Requirements**

Graduate of College of Pharmacy

Current Minnesota Board of Pharmacy Registration

Typing ability of at least 50 words per minute with minimal error

Must be able to use a computer efficiently to enter/change data and generate various reports

**Preferred**

Three years of experience working in a pharmacy environment
