Position Summary

Perform functions to dispense prescription medications to patients in keeping with providers' prescription orders, provide expert counsel to patients regarding the safe use of prescription medications, and ensure that pharmacy prescription services are provided in compliance with regulatory, policy and procedure requirements for accuracy, safety, and security, while providing excellent customer service; making decisions based on precedent and working within the limits of established policy. Essential Job Functions

Dispense and oversee the filling of prescriptions to ensure that each patient receives the medications exactly as prescribed by medical providersEnsure effective communications with providers, patients and associates to provide patient focused superior accuracy, safety and securityProvide patient consultations regarding safe use and storage of prescription medications, relevant health factors, and respond to inquiriesConsult with prescribing physicians as questions warrantMaintain effective communications with physicians, patients and manufacturer/HUB to foster enduring business relationships and build customer loyaltyProvide technical, policy, and regulatory guidance to pharmacy technicians to ensure that all medications are accurately dispensed, recorded, labeled and stored for pick up or deliveryEnsure that all reimbursements for prescription medications are accurately processed and recordedAssist with the maintenance of workflow, assigning technicians and other pharmacy associates to tasks required to maintain order and ensure efficient, compliant pharmacy operationMonitor the receipt, recording, and organization of prescription medications arriving in the pharmacyParticipate in quality assurance programs to ensure that pharmacy operations are in complete compliance with procedural, policy and regulatory requirementsPerform or assist with any operations, as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules and quality requirementsParticipate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, and policiesPerform other related duties as assignedMust be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation

Minimum Position Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in PharmacyPharmacist LicenseDemonstrated excellence in attention to detail and the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities with critical focus on accuracy and safetyHighly effective communicator with superior listening, understanding, speaking, writing and counseling skills in EnglishProven ability to model high level customer service resulting in improved customer satisfaction and enduring business relationships with patients, prescribers and pharmacy associatesDemonstrated ability to take ownership of pharmacy operations, make superior decisions and meet expectations for productivity, efficiency, and accuracyStrong team building skills, with the ability to influence and lead, teach, train, counsel and coach to accomplish organizational goals

Desired Previous Experience/Education

Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy1 year of experience as a pharmacistBilingual communication in Spanish
