Vidant Medical Center is a 900+ bed Level-1 Trauma Center, regional referral hospital and is the flagship hospital for Vidant Health. We serve as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Vidant Medical Center provides acute, intermediate, rehabilitation and outpatient services to more than 1.4 million people in 29 counties. Position Summary
Enters prescription orders into the computer system. Reviews prescriptions for possible therapeutic problems,
contraindications, interactions, allergies, and appropriate dosing. Discusses prescription clarifications with the prescriber or their office when necessary. Documents actions appropriately. Provides patient counseling regarding drug therapy. Provides drug information to health care professionals. Verifies the data entry and filling of all medications entered and prepared by pharmacy technicians. Follows all federal and state laws and regulations and hospital policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements
BS Pharmacy, MS Pharmacy, or Pharm. D. is required
1 year to 3 years in Retail Pharmacy is required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
