*1.0 FTE is Full-Time, any position less than 1.0 FTE is Part-Time, and .001 FTE is Optional Part-Time*

*Positions with an "FTE" (full time equivalency) of .8 - 1.0 are eligible for full-time medical, dental and vision benefits. Positions with an "FTE" of .5 - .799 are eligible for part-time pro-rated medical, dental and vision benefits*

Shift: Shift 2

Work schedule: Monday thru Friday 3:00 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. Minimum of two full weekends per month.

Summary:
Under the specific day-to-day direction of the Staff Pharmacist, Pharmacy Manager, and/or AD of Clinical Pharmacy Services and under the over-all direction of the Director of Pharmacy, the pharmacist assistant is responsible and accountable for the following: Provision of technical and clerical assistance to the pharmacist in the processing of medication orders and the monitoring of drug therapy. May procure, measure, compound, count and deliver medications under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. Assist in the management of the decentralized drug distribution systems. Interpretation, transcription and order entry of medication orders into the Epic computer system. Maintain patient data within the computer system. Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

Previous pharmacy, retail, or business experience is required. Experience in the following is preferred: Dispensing of medications; Pharmaceutical inventory control; Quality assurance/quality improvement; Teaching/training; Medical information retrieval; Documentation/transcription; Pharmacy calculations; Fiscal/billing/reimbursement; Standard dosing guidelines for critical care; Code/emergencies; IV drips; IV preparation. High School diploma or equivalent is required.


Other information:

Knowledge of following systems for: Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) documentation; Medication error reporting; Nonformulary requests.
