Pediatric Hematology & Oncology Clinical Pharmacy Specialist

Position Details:

The Parkview Women's and Children's and Oncology service lines continue to grow in northeast Indiana. The pediatric hematology/oncology population will be starting at Parkview Fall 2022. This is an opportunity to help us build the best program possible. This pharmacy specialist will join other oncology specialists that provide direct patient care as part of our existing oncology treatment teams. Our multi-disciplinary treatment teams include physicians, nurse practitioners, patient care nurses, research nurses, medical assistants, dieticians, and care navigators. The pharmacists are an integral part of the treatment team identifying evidence-based treatment plans, educating patients and families, resolving medication therapy opportunities working side by side with the providers and staff to meet the needs of each unique patient. This position is supported by an extensive oncology Pharmacy team, including an Oncology Pharmacy Manager, three ambulatory oncology pharmacy specialists, one inpatient oncology pharmacy specialist, four infusion center pharmacists, three investigational drug service pharmacists, multiple pharmacy technicians, and a medication assistance coordinator. The services will include outpatient treatment of pediatric hematology/oncology patients. This role will also facilitate patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings as part of a seamless inpatient to outpatient transition, with the patient as our top priority.

Funding available for relocation costs. Salary and sign-on bonus negotiable.

Position Qualifications:

Candidates must possess a pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited institution and have completed a PGY1 pharmacy residency. A PGY2 residency in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology (or equivalent experience) is preferred. Pharmacy licensure or eligibility in Indiana is required. Candidates must have a high level of clinical practice skills, enthusiasm for teaching, and the interpersonal skills needed to interact effectively with students, health professionals, and patients.
